Flowers 10-15/domed, well-rounded truss, tubular funnel-shaped,
80x80mm, with 5 slightly wavy-edged lobes,vivid yellow
(14A) throughout, sometimes lightly flushed pastel orange
at lobe tips with age.
Leaves elliptic, 125x55mm, broadly acute at apex, cuneate
at base, with upcurved margins, dull green above, with
tan scales below and on petioles.
Shrub of upright, dense habit, 1.0x1.0m in 14 years.
Intermittent flowering throughout year.
It is likely that the seed parent given as Rhododendron
gardenia is actually the hybrid Rhododendron
'Gardenia Odyssey'.
