for hybridizing and of the many progeny raised around 1000
cultivars have been named.

This option details the 57 species that have been utilized in
hybridizing to date, accompanied by lists of cultivars produced
using each of these species.
Further information on all Rhododendron cultivars can be found
in The International Rhododendron Register and Checklist,
second edition, compiled by Dr Alan C. Leslie, International
Rhododendron Registrar, and published by the Royal Horticultural
Society, London, in 2004. Annual supplements issued since that
date are also available.
