Epithet - "with many veins" in the leaves

Location - Indonesia: Kalimantan; Brunei; Malaysia: Sabah & Sarawak - 100-800m
Epithet - after Anton Nieuwenhuis, Dutch Professor of Ethnology who first collected this
species in the 1890s.

Location - Malaysia: Sarawak: Bakelalan to Mt. Murud, Mt. Murut, Mt. Api, Ulu Baram &
Batu Lawi; Sabah: Mt. Lumarku - 1300-2100m
Epithet - "snow flowered", alluding to the colour of the flowers.

Leaves - broadly obovate - 1.5 x 0.9cm
Flowers - tubular - usually pink or dark red - 3.5cm - held singly or in pairs
Location - W. New Guinea & Papua New Guinea: along the Main Range from Mt. Doorman
and the Hellwig Mts to Mt Victoria - 2000-3500m
Epithet - "rich" or "wealthy", alluding to the leaves being rounded like coins.
